rPlayTV Privacy Policy

rPlayTV is a media player published by VMLite Corporation. It plays playlists you supply. We collect as little as possible, and this page describes all of it.

What we collect

One thing: an anonymous installation identifier, so we can count how many devices use the app and how many use CarPlay.

This is sent to our server at most once per day per device, and again when CarPlay is used. It is never linked to your identity, and it is never used to track you across apps, websites or services. We do not use advertising identifiers.

What we do not collect

Your playlists, servers, usernames or passwords. These stay on your device and, if you enable iCloud sync, in your own iCloud account. We never receive them.
What you watch. Channel names, viewing history, favourites, watch progress and recordings never leave your device.
Your location. If you enable the CarPlay parked check, location is used on the device to decide whether the vehicle is moving, and is never stored or transmitted.
Personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in and no profile.

Streaming providers

When you play a channel, your device connects directly to the servers in your own playlist. Those connections do not pass through us, and we have no visibility of them. Whatever the provider logs is governed by their privacy policy, not this one.

Third-party components

rPlayTV includes the Google Cast SDK so you can cast to Chromecast devices. It is active only when you use casting, and is subject to Google's privacy policy. We include no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics.

Children

rPlayTV is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone. Because the app plays content you supply, we cannot control what a playlist contains; parental supervision is advised.

Your choices

Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device, including the installation identifier. A later reinstall generates a new one and cannot be connected to the old one.

To ask what we hold for an installation identifier, or to have it deleted, email info@vmlite.com. Note the identifier is the only key we have — without it from your device, we cannot locate a record.

Changes

If we change what the app collects, this page will be updated and the date above changed.
