Please include your device model, iOS version, and the app version from Settings → About. For playback problems, the channel name and your playlist type (M3U, Xtream Codes or Dispatcharr) help a great deal.
rPlayTV does not include any channels. It plays your playlist, from your own IPTV provider. There is a step-by-step tutorial with screenshots if you would rather follow along.
A channel will not play. Try it in another player first. If it fails there too, the stream or your subscription is the cause rather than the app. Some providers require a specific User-Agent, which rPlayTV honours when the playlist declares it.
Nothing appears on the CarPlay screen. Video on the car display needs iOS 26 or later, including iOS 27 — on iOS 18 the car screen plays audio only. rPlayTV shows a safety notice the first time video plays in each drive, which must be acknowledged before the picture appears. Video on a car screen is for passengers — never watch while driving.
Can I play YouTube on the CarPlay screen? No — and no App Store app can. rPlayTV plays the streams in your playlist: a URL your provider or your own server hands it. YouTube does not give out that kind of URL. Its video is delivered only through YouTube’s own player, and reaching it any other way is against YouTube’s terms of service and against Apple’s App Store rules, so we will not add it. YouTube’s own iPhone app does not support CarPlay video either, so there is no route to the car screen from anywhere.
What does play on the car screen is your playlist — live channels, and movies and series from Dispatcharr or Xtream Codes. Anything that is in your playlist as an ordinary stream URL plays in the car exactly like it plays on the phone. rPlayTV neither knows nor cares which server produced that URL; it only plays what your playlist points at.
The one place YouTube appears in rPlayTV is the Trailer button on a movie page, which hands off to the YouTube app or Safari on your phone. That is a link, not playback, and it does not appear on the car display.
Channel logos are missing. Logos come from your playlist or from a public logo catalogue, and both can be temporarily unreachable. They are cached once loaded.
How do I remove my data? Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. See the privacy policy for what leaves the device.
