Requires iOS 26 or later — including iOS 27. On iOS 18
the CarPlay screen stays audio‑only; everything else in this release works as normal.
Watch your channels on the car screen. rPlayTV picks the right method automatically: cars
that support video‑in‑car use it, and older head units are served by the app's own
renderer — so it works on units that have no video feature at all.
A safety notice appears the first time video plays on each drive, and can be dismissed
permanently.
Browse channels, and play or pause, from the car display without touching your phone.
Channels the car cannot decode fall back to the app's own decoder where possible.
Playback
Channels that need the fallback decoder are remembered, so they start faster next time
instead of being re-detected on every play.
A stream that a server briefly refuses is now retried on the other decoder rather than
reported as unavailable.
Channel logos
Logos are cached on the device, so they appear immediately and survive a poor connection.
They are refreshed quietly in the background when a broadcaster changes one.
A failed logo download is retried instead of being remembered as missing for the rest of the
session.
Fixed two logos that had been removed by their host and were showing a broken placeholder,
and restored the artwork for the 历年春晚 channels.
Player
Play/pause is now available on the phone player for every channel.
On the car screen, a long channel name no longer covers the playback controls, and the
toolbar stays legible over bright video.
Apple TV
The display matches the stream's frame rate, so 50fps content plays at 50Hz and the judder on
European channels is gone. Honours your Apple TV's Match Content setting, and restores the
normal display mode when you leave the player.
Earlier versions
rPlayTV is based on AerioTV by Logan Jones.
Release notes for versions before 1.8.2 are part of that project's history and are published
